Canberra man awarded $184,000 after ineffective treatment left him unable to walk properly
A Canberra man has been awarded more than $184,000 in damages by the ACT Supreme Court after he was left unable to walk properly and experiencing pain after a treatment for a corn on his foot.
The man first sought treatment from a GP in 2013 for a corn on the sole of his foot.
Today, he and his wife gave a detailed, graphic account of a procedure undertaken while he was under local anaesthetic as the doctor attempted to cut out the corn.
The man was then referred for surgery, and placed on a public hospital waiting list.
